Participants' Information Download our handy Parade Entry Checklist Getting to the Marshalling Area
Final Marshalling AreaThe Marshal in charge of your section will place your group in the proper position within the section. The parade will line up along Industrial Rd. with Section 1 starting at Dunbar Rd. Attached MapThe map shows the location of the sections, the marshalling area, parade route, and disbanding area. Note: that the parade route makes a full loop; you will end up back where you started. Click here for the map. ParkingThere will be no vehicular traffic within the marshalling area other than the actual floats. Car-pool close to the area; walk-in your float participants! After unloading, vehicles should continue directly to parking in nearby lots to wait for the parade to finish. Note: Please respect the wishes of private parking lots & property owners. WashroomsThere will be portable washrooms available in the line-up area. Parade HeadquartersThe parade headquarters will be at the entrance to the public works yard on Dunbar Rd. All section marshals are in radio contact with the base. It is for emergencies only. TelephoneThere are public payphones at Cambridge Centre, the Dunbar Plaza, and throughout the route. PARADE RULESThe authority of the Parade Marshal is absolute in all matters pertaining to the marshalling area, parade route, and dispersal time. The Parade Marshal will wear an orange safety vest. REFUSAL TO FOLLOW THE DIRECTION OF PARADE OFFICIALS BE SURE TO READ ALL OF THE RULES AND REGULATIONS! INFORMATIONIf a float/vehicle breaks down, move it to the side of the road. There will be a vehicle available to assist if necessary. A marshal can reach it by radio. The parade will formally start moving out onto Hespeler Rd. at Dunbar Rd. at 6:00 p.m. sharp! The formal end of the parade is when all entries have come off the route into the disbanding area. As entries come off the route onto Langs Drive, no vehicle shall stop moving until the section marshal says so. The parade will make a complete loop, with your float ending up where it began. Failure to comply will cause the rest of the parade still en route to come to a grinding halt. This will not be tolerated! THANK YOU FOR PARTICIPATING IN THE CAMBRIDGE SANTA CLAUS PARADE.
